MICE 2020 Mini-Grant Winners!

MICE is proud to announce the 32 winners of the 2020 MICE Mini-Grants! In order to support the comics community, The Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo awards MICE Mini-Grants to a few outstanding new mini-comics each year in order to help offset their print and production costs. While our show might look a little different this year, we’re still committed to celebrating the best in mini-comics and have expanded the awards to 32 grants of $100 each.

In addition, Special Guest Judge Nate Powell selected “Do Not Resuscitate” by Ingrid Pierre as our “MICE Mini-Grand Prize” Winner: a total grant of $500.

“Ingrid Pierre’s DO NOT RESUSCITATE is stunning and hypnotic— it’s a journey through death wrapped within a nuanced love story, delivered with sophisticated color, patience, and trust in the reader. I look forward to all of Ingrid’s future work.” – Nate Powell

The MICE Mini-Grant recipients are some of the most exciting, imaginative, and engaging comics we’ve read this year. We hope you’ll take a look at the brilliant comics we have on display and consider supporting these talented creators during these difficult times. We hope you’ll think of this as a kind of exhibit hall, a place where you can discover a new story just for you.

Thanks to our partnership with Radiator Comics, you can browse and purchase many of these winning books. And a huge thanks to PrintNinja – their matching donation helped make this all possible!
